It is also tested extensively under controlled conditions, to check that it fulfills its purpose.

A customer’s view is also taken into consideration during this stage. Finally, the product development is carried out and any required changes are made.
A final product development process follows once the product development process has been completed. This final product development process includes a series of customer needs assessment, which help the engineers to assess the client’s needs, and their requirement for new products. A customer needs assessment draws on various sources, including market surveys, demand modeling, and case studies. The product development team also considers the preferences and expectations of the target market. These are all considered in relation to the company’s product portfolio.

By avoiding design thinking altogether, a company risks losing the benefit of the many benefits that NPDs provide.
