Players would start out by choosing their starting nation, then following some history lessons about how various historical events unfold, all the way through to a set of eventual outcomes, where certain events cause major change to the real world political map. These choices would ultimately affect the players’ place in the world, perhaps even determining the outcome of world war one.

Gamification has a number of different effects, including increasing the players’ engagement and making the game more interesting. However, many experts believe that it is not enough just to provide an artificial result. They argue that a good game design should be able to provide a real result, one that can be manipulated by the players themselves. For example, a player may decide to increase the difficulty of a game to ensure that they increase their level of participation, or manipulate a virtual marketplace to determine the price of commodities, or to adjust the speed at which a character grows in experience. This increased interaction is only possible if the player has the ability to manipulate the system, and the designers of these types of games have found ways to allow this. Gamification has also often led to an increased focus on content, as designers find new ways of including content into the games so that players continue to have a rewarding experience.

Gamification has been used in many games over the years, including sports. It can take the form of achievements, awards and trophies, as well as awards from specific achievements in the game. However, it is often used in the video game industry as a means of monetizing a video game. For example, in many video games players are rewarded for completing challenges, whether these are time-based or game modifiers.
